WoW Midnight Delves Guide

WoW Midnight Delves are short, role-flexible world instances built for solo players and small groups. In Midnight Season 1, Delves connect directly to gearing, Great Vault progress, Bountiful Coffers, Valeera Sanguinar, Delver’s Journey ranks, Undercoin vendors, and the seasonal nemesis boss Nullaeus.

This Boostcarry guide gives you the full Delves overview first, then points you to the deeper guides for Journey rewards, Delver’s Headquarters, Valeera setup, Nullaeus strategy, and Delve rewards.

Important: Delves logic changes with seasonal tuning. This guide keeps the core route aligned with current Midnight Season 1 Delves information and links out to dedicated pages when a system needs deeper explanation.

What Are Delves in WoW Midnight?

Delves are short, replayable world instances designed to give players a fast progression activity outside normal dungeon and raid routes. They are role-agnostic, which means you do not need a traditional tank-healer-DPS party structure to enter and complete them.

In Midnight, Delves are more than side content. They connect into gearing, weekly Great Vault choices, seasonal rewards, companion progression, Undercoin vendors, and the seasonal Delves nemesis system. Most runs are built around compact objectives, a final encounter or final objective, and a Treasure Room at the end.

Practical takeaway: treat Delves like a weekly progression lane. Regular Delves are useful for learning layouts and objectives, but Bountiful Delves are the main route for higher-value rewards.

Key Features of Midnight Delves

Feature What it means in practice
Short instance format Most Delves are built as compact scenario-style runs with objectives and a Treasure Room finish.
Role-agnostic play You can play without building a normal dungeon group, making Delves useful for solo and flexible play.
Valeera companion Valeera Sanguinar supports your run and can be configured around your needs.
Tier scaling Higher tiers increase difficulty and reward potential, especially when tied to Bountiful Delves.
Great Vault progress Delves count toward weekly Great Vault reward choices.
Seasonal progression Delver’s Journey unlocks power, cosmetics, vendor rewards, and additional progression layers.

Midnight Delve Locations

Midnight Season 1 contains 10 Delves across the main Midnight zones. The important thing for users is not only the list, but also the planning logic: you can route Delves by zone instead of jumping randomly between distant areas.

Zone Delves
Eversong Woods Collegiate Calamity, The Darkway, Shadow Enclave
Zul’Aman Atal’Aman, Twilight Crypts
Harandar Grudge Pit, Gulf of Memory
Voidstorm Shadowguard Point, Sunkiller Sanctum
Isle of Quel’Danas Parhelion Plaza

When you approach a Delve entrance, the Delve UI lets you review the Delve name, select the tier, check the expected difficulty, and prepare before entering. Higher tiers are harder and should be approached with stronger gear, better companion setup, and cleaner objective routing.

Valeera Sanguinar, Your Midnight Delve Companion

Valeera Sanguinar is the Midnight Delve companion. She automatically joins when you are solo or in a group of up to 4 players, but she does not join a full party. You can set her role as Damage Dealer, Healer, or Tank depending on what your character needs inside the run.

Valeera Role Best use case Dedicated guide
Damage Dealer Use when your character is durable enough and you want faster clears. Valeera Companion Guide
Healer Use when survival is the main problem or you are learning higher tiers. Valeera Companion Guide
Tank Use when you need Valeera to hold pressure while you play around mechanics. Valeera Companion Guide

Valeera’s role and curios matter more as you climb. If you are struggling with damage intake, failed objectives, or repeated deaths before the Treasure Room, review the dedicated WoW Valeera Companion Guide before pushing higher tiers.

Bountiful Delves and Restored Coffer Keys

Bountiful Delves are the main reward-focused version of Delves. They use a different visual treatment on the map and provide access to Bountiful Coffers at the end of the run. Those Bountiful Coffers require Restored Coffer Key to open.

As a planning rule, prioritize Bountiful Delves over regular Delves when you are chasing meaningful weekly rewards. Regular Delves are still useful for practice, but non-Bountiful Delves do not keep scaling rewards past Tier 3.

Delve Type Why it matters Best use
Regular Delve Good for learning layouts, objectives, mechanics, and companion setup. Practice, routing, casual clears.
Bountiful Delve Provides access to Bountiful Coffers and better reward potential. Weekly gearing, Delver’s Journey progress, high-value clears.
Tier 11 Bountiful Delve Can award Gilded Stash when completed with lives remaining after the Journey unlock. High-end weekly Delve progression.

Gearing in Delves and Great Vault Progress

Delves have their own weekly Great Vault progression line. Completing 2, 4, and 8 Delves unlocks reward choices in the following weekly reset. If your goal is to maximize the Delves row, your weekly target is 8 eligible Delve runs.

For high-value weekly rewards, focus on Tier 8 or higher. Tier 8+ Delves are the practical target for Hero-track Great Vault rewards, while Bountiful Delves are the route that matters for higher end-of-run loot.

Weekly Delves completed Great Vault impact Planning note
2 Delves Unlocks the first Delves reward choice. Minimum weekly Delves checkpoint.
4 Delves Unlocks the second Delves reward choice. Good middle route if time is limited.
8 Delves Unlocks the full Delves row. Best weekly target if Delves are part of your gearing route.

Midnight Season 1 Delve Gear Snapshot

Delve end-of-run rewards and Great Vault rewards scale differently. Regular end-of-run gear is capped early, while higher reward routes depend on Bountiful Delves and weekly Great Vault progress.

Delve Tier End-of-run loot item level Great Vault loot item level
Tier 1 220 — Adventurer 1/6 233 — Veteran 1/6
Tier 2 224 — Adventurer 2/6 237 — Veteran 2/6
Tier 3 227 — Adventurer 3/6 240 — Veteran 3/6
Tier 4 230 — Adventurer 4/6 243 — Veteran 4/6
Tier 5 233 — Veteran 1/6 246 — Champion 1/6
Tier 6 240 — Veteran 2/6 253 — Champion 3/6
Tier 7 246 — Champion 1/6 256 — Champion 4/6
Tier 8+ 250 — Champion 2/6 259 — Hero 1/6

Route note: if you only need the weekly Vault track, plan around 2/4/8 eligible Delve clears. If you also want better end-of-run rewards, spend your Restored Coffer Keys on Bountiful Delves instead of random regular clears.

Delve Difficulty and Recommended Item Level

Midnight Delves are divided into 11 difficulty tiers. Tier 1 is the easiest, while Tier 11 is the hardest. Tier 4+ requires the Midnight Delves: Endgame achievement on at least one character, and tier unlocks are shared across Delves rather than being locked to one specific entrance.

Tier Recommended item level Use this tier for
Tier 1 170 Entry learning and basic Delve flow.
Tier 2 187 Early progression.
Tier 3 200 Pre-endgame practice and low-risk clears.
Tier 4 213 Start of higher Delve progression.
Tier 5 222 Steady mid-tier clears.
Tier 6 229 More consistent reward progression.
Tier 7 235 Preparation for Tier 8 weekly goals.
Tier 8 244 Main Great Vault target tier.
Tier 9 250 Higher challenge and stronger weekly route.
Tier 10 257 Advanced Delve pushing.
Tier 11 264 High-end Bountiful Delve progression.

Revives and Reward Quality

Delves use a Revives Remaining counter. Every time a player releases after dying, one revive is removed. The number of revives left at the end can affect the quality of the final reward, so higher-tier Delves reward cautious play.

Tier Range Revives Planning note
Tiers 1–3 No death limit Good for learning routes and objectives.
Tiers 4–8 5 revives Play carefully, especially in Bountiful Delves.
Tier 9 4 revives Mistakes start becoming much more expensive.
Tiers 10–11 3 revives Requires cleaner execution and better setup.

Delver’s Bounty, Beacon of Hope, and Nullaeus

Delver’s Bounty is a weekly Delves reward layer, with the largest chance tied to Nullaeus, the Midnight Season 1 Delves nemesis. When Nullaeus is brought down to 50%, he spawns a gold pile that can contain a Bounty and other loot.

To summon Nullaeus, you need Beacon of Hope. This item is bought from Naleidea Rivergleam at Delver’s Headquarters in Silvermoon for 5,000 Undercoin. Use it after reaching the Delve checkpoint to summon the boss.

Step What to do Why it matters
1. Buy Beacon of Hope Purchase it from Naleidea Rivergleam in Delver’s Headquarters. It is the summon item for Nullaeus.
2. Reach the checkpoint Progress through the Delve until the checkpoint is active. The item is used after the checkpoint.
3. Summon Nullaeus Use Beacon of Hope inside the Delve. This starts the nemesis encounter route.
4. Push him to 50% Bring Nullaeus down until the gold pile appears. This is the key Delver’s Bounty moment.
5. Use the Bounty map before the final boss Use the Delver’s Bounty during the same run before killing the final Delve boss. This adds a Hidden Trove to the Treasure Room.

For the full boss route, use the dedicated WoW Nullaeus Delve Boss Guide. For done-for-you completion help, use Nullaeus Challenge Boost.

Core Delve Mechanics in Midnight Season 1

Delves are short, but they are not empty corridors. Higher tiers add pressure through objectives, limited revives, stronger packs, companion setup, treasure choices, and optional reward layers.

Nemesis Strongbox

At Tier 4 and above, Nullaeus’s allies can appear inside Delves. These mobs carry the Pactsworn prefix and are stronger than normal Delve enemies. Defeating these packs can improve the Nemesis Strongbox reward at the end of the run.

Boons and Blessings

Boons and blessings are temporary Delve buffs unlocked through Delver’s Journey progression and found through Mislaid Curiosities. They can increase stats, reduce damage taken, or otherwise help you complete the current run more safely.

Gilded Crests from Tier 11 Bountiful Delves

After the relevant Delver’s Journey unlock, completing a Tier 11 Bountiful Delve with lives remaining can grant a Gilded Stash containing 7 Myth Dawncrests. This can be done up to 3 times per week for 21 Myth Dawncrests from Delves, and it does not require a Restored Coffer Key to open the Gilded Stash.

Explorers’ League Supplies

Explorers’ League Supplies appear at the start of a Delve and at checkpoints. Use them to repair gear, adjust Valeera’s role and curios, and prepare for the next part of the run.

Objectives, Sturdy Chests, and Mislaid Curiosities

Most Delves use scenario-style objectives before the final boss or final objective. Delve variants can change on daily reset. Inside runs, look for Sturdy Chests and Mislaid Curiosities, because they can provide companion experience, Voidlight Marl, boons, consumables, and other Delve-related benefits.

Delver’s Journey, Headquarters, Weekly Quest, and Rewards

The main Delves system branches into several dedicated progression pages. This overview keeps the route simple; the deeper tables and reward lists live in the child guides so this page stays useful instead of becoming overloaded.

Weekly Delves Quest and Bonus Event

Valeera can offer a weekly Delves quest at Delver’s Headquarters that requires 3 Delves and rewards a Pinnacle Cache. This quest rotates with other activity-based weekly quests, so it may not be available every week.

Delves can also be tied to a bonus event. During the Delves bonus week, the Sign of the Explorer buff increases Delver’s Journey gains, Valeera XP gains, and Undercoin gains by 25%. The related weekly quest, A Call to Delves, requires 5 Delves and rewards a piece of item level 246 Champion 1/6 gear.
